Carl Seliskar, president of the Huntsburg Historical Society, presented his talk entitled “Money, Pigs and Banking” at the 2018 annual dinner meeting on Sunday, April 22nd.  His presentation to members described in detail the financial situation facing the settlers of Huntsburg in the early 1800s and the resourceful ways in which this newly formed country in the years following the American Revolution dealt with money, exchange and finances.

In the following weeks Carl visited Huntsburg resident Mrs. Jean Taylor, 91, who was unable to attend the meeting and gave a special one-on-one presentation of his talk to her at her home in Huntsburg.  Jean has been and continues to be an active supporter of the Huntsburg Historical Society, has made many contributions to its museum, and continues to take a keen interest in the history of our town.
